American DataBank only collects information that is required to complete the services requested by the user and authorized in writing in accordance with provisions of the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA).

  American DataBank collects information from our users at several different points on our website. Personal information may be gathered from third parties as needed; data gathered may include residential history, employment history, education history, criminal record history, reference interviews, credit history, driving, general reputation and government exclusion lists.

American DataBank limits access to the information we collect. Searches are conducted only after written authorization is provided by the user (i.e. the consumer) in accordance with provisions of the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA). Strict policies are in place to control access to and use of information:

• Employee Access
  All American DataBank employees sign a Confidentiality Agreement before beginning employment. Access to all processing systems is through user-specific password protection. Employees receive training on the need to and measures for protecting individual privacy prior to being granted system access.
• Information Sharing
  Information collected is never sold or shared with a party, unless the party have been granted access by the applicant during the authorization process. We reserve the right to use third parties or subcontractors during the background screening process. Disclosure of personally identifiable information (PII) during the course of research is limited except as required or permitted by law to fulfill the requested services.
• Processing Location
  All information is processed within the United States and information is never off-shored or stored outside the United States. Information is only disseminated to other parties outside of the United States when it is for the purposes of completing international verifications and additional precautions are taken to ensure that information is protected.
• Onward Transfer
  Information obtained by American DataBank is forwarded only to the end-user, or an agent of the end-user acting on their behalf. American DataBank will obtain assurances from the end-user and/or their agents that the information is for the purpose described in the signed authorization and that the recipient will safeguard any and all information obtained.

Consumer User Right of Access to Information
American DataBank will provide access to the information obtained for the background check report, providing the opportunity to review the information and to request corrections, amendments or to delete inaccurate information. Under provisions of the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) protecting disclosure of information to consumers, you are entitled to a copy of your background check report.

Data Security and Integrity
American DataBank takes all reasonable measures and employs strict procedures to protect information from loss, misuse and unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration or destruction. American DataBank has put in place appropriate physical, electronic and managerial processes to assure the protection of data. All data submitted to American DataBank is protected by the latest is Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology encrypting the information transmitted over the Internet. All access to information, whether by the user or by American DataBank personnel, is password-protected. Servers used to store information are housed in state-of-the-art facilities with the highest level of security.
